ADHD cleaning checklist
Ticking two boxes is a real result. This is not a test.
Every day — the baseline ~10 min
The version you do on bad days. If you do nothing else, do this.
- Clear the walkways between bed, bathroom, and kitchen
- Move food waste and dishes out of the room you rest in
- Keep the bed clear enough to get into
- Empty the bin if it is full
Pick two anchors ~10–20 min
Attach these to something you already do. Two you hit beat six you resent.
- While the kettle boils — clear one counter
- After dinner — sink to empty, wipe the table
- Before leaving the house — one lap with a basket
- During an ad break — put away five things
- Before bed — set out tomorrow's keys, bag, bottle
Once a week — any day ~20 min
Timer on, music on. Stop when it ends, finished or not.
- Surface pass: return flat surfaces to empty
- One load of laundry, started and finished
- Bathroom: sink, toilet, mirror
- Bin bags out
Pull list — only when energy shows up
Not assigned to dates. Pick one, then stop while it still feels good.
- Fridge shelves
- Under the bed
- One wardrobe shelf
- Shower and grout
- Oven or microwave
- Windows in one room
- The doom pile / doom box
- Paperwork tray
- Skirting boards
- Car footwells
Fell off? Start here — today, not Monday
- Do not count what you missed. Nothing is owed.
- One trash bag, undisputed rubbish only. Then stop.
- Clear one surface.
- Restart the baseline today.
