Who makes Tidy Buddy
Tidy Buddy is built by SideKick Software, a small independent developer. It is an Android app that breaks household cleaning into steps sized to the energy you have that day. The guides on this site are written and maintained by the same team that builds the app.
We are not a clinic, a publisher, or a content agency. There is no advertising network paying for placement in these guides, and nobody has paid us to be mentioned in them.
How these guides get written
Every guide follows the same process, and we would rather show it than claim authority we do not have.
- It starts from a real question. We write guides for problems people actually describe having — task initiation, the clean-clothes mountain, the pile on the chair — not for keyword targets with nothing behind them.
- The advice has to be specific and doable. If a step cannot be performed while tired, it does not go in. "Be more consistent" is not advice; "put the bin where the mess happens" is.
- Health and clinical claims are omitted, not hedged. We describe cleaning workflows. We do not explain what ADHD or autism is, what causes them, or how to treat anything. Where a widely used concept comes from someone else's work — spoon theory, body doubling, doom piles — we describe how it is commonly used rather than claiming it as ours.
- Nothing is published about the app that we cannot verify. No invented features, no ratings we have not earned, no availability we do not have.
- Guides get revisited. Each one carries a visible "updated" date. When something turns out to be wrong or has gone stale, we change the guide rather than quietly leaving it.
What these guides are not
This is not medical or clinical support. Tidy Buddy and everything written here offers practical cleaning prompts, structure, and encouragement. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support. If you are struggling in a way that goes beyond a messy home, please talk to a doctor or a qualified professional — that is genuinely a different kind of help than we can offer.
They are also not universal. Neurodivergent people are not interchangeable, and a technique that transforms one person's week does nothing for the next. Every guide is written to be taken in parts. Using one idea and ignoring the rest is the intended way to read them.
Our position on cleaning advice
Most cleaning content assumes the reader's problem is not knowing what to do. Usually it isn't. People generally know the dishes need doing. The gap is between knowing and starting, and advice that ignores that gap is just a description of a clean house.
So we optimise for the bad day rather than the good one. A five-minute routine you can run while depleted beats an excellent system you abandon in week two. That is also why the app resets your streak but never your progress — a missed day should cost you a number, not your reason to come back.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, unclear, or has stopped being true, tell us at sidekicksoftwares@gmail.com and we will fix the guide. That includes anything we have written about other apps — we would rather be corrected than leave something inaccurate up.
Privacy, in one paragraph
This website runs no analytics and sets no tracking cookies. In the app, before-and-after photos stay on your device and are never uploaded; your account, progress, routines, and settings sync so they survive changing phones. The privacy policy has the full detail, and you can delete your account at any time.
